A fascination with people, nature & things, started very early, and it was paper & pen that helped me to express it. When my best friends weren't available, sketchbooks, paint by number kits, spirograph, etch-a-sketch and doodling filled in. Into my teens, the sketchbook became my contemplative close friend when I needed to unwind, and anything was fair game to be drafted onto its pages. Opening to a blank page was like looking at an infinite, magical oasis where endless things could come to life..2 dimensionally that is!
I grew up in New Jersey mixed with a heaping dose of New York. My birthplace, Brooklyn, called my family to return every weekend of my youth to see extended family & visit Manhattan. From a kids perspective, traveling to & from our green suburban town was actually pretty boring, but arriving in the city...another story! This teeming world of culture, human drama, arts, smells, filth, vehicles, lights, loud sound and overwealming energy, lit my young imagination and I was so grateful! I grew to appreciate this information avalanche, which is why my secondary educational path brought me back to New York to both live and obtain a BFA in Fine Arts at Parsons School of Design.
Right after Parsons, friends came into my life who introduced me to the healing arts, and Therapeutic Massage, a career which beautifully lasted over 2 decades. Working close with people, has greatly informed my imagery. It also taught me to read body language quickly, catch nuances, & gently alter direction in the moment, when necessary. The naturalness of the body, connection, and authentic expression, are my guide.
Rumi said, "When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy."
Its such a pleasure to offer my creative passion & joy, through eyes & heart, for the happiness & legacy of my clients. Many sessions intentionally take place within the exquisite beauty of the natural world. When surrounded by flora & fauna the glow and radiance emanating from my clients is magnified. Together, we create images that can endure & remain valuable for generations to come! (goosebumps)
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about the woman behind the camera, and I look forward to creating beautiful, timeless imagery with you!
